Shure acquire AB Wavemark

Expands existing software management systems

Shure AB Wavemark acquisition

Shure have announced that they have acquired Ab Wavemark Oy, a move that will integrate Wavemark’s range of software products — including Wavetool and WTautomixer V2 — into Shure’s professional audio equipment line-up.

Wavemark’s Wavetool is a monitoring software package aimed at professional audio engineers, providing them with a centralised system that offers early detection of potential audio issues, along with streamlined communication with the rest of a production’s sound team. It allows engineers to quickly discover problems with microphones such as low batteries and signal issues, and also enables them to stream audio to an iOS device whilst moving freely around a stage or venue. Wavetool can be used in conjunction with equipment such as Shure’s Axient Digital, ULX-D, SLX-D, Axient Analog, and UHF-R systems, and also works with other popular RF receivers from other brands.

WTautomixer V2 is a plug-in which automatically balances levels across multiple microphones, ensuring consistent that volume levels are maintained. It is also capable of intuitively reducing the level of inactive channels to reduce noise and maximise audio quality.

The company say that the acquisition complements their existing range of software management packages, such as the Wireless Workbench and ShurePlus Channels systems designed for live events, and the Designer, SystemOn, and IntelliMix Room Audio Processing software for integrated systems.
