Analogue outboard experts elysia may be renowned for their range of rackmount and 500-series processors, but their latest release sees them head in an entirely new direction. The Human Beat Pack Volume 1 offers a collection of high-quality drum grooves captured at Limusic Studio in France by Moses Schneider, a producer renowned for his extraordinary style.
The collection contains 50 grooves of different tempos, timings and lengths performed by drummer Demian Kappenstein. They have been recorded alongside a selection of matching fills and breaks, and are provided as stereo audio files that can be dragged into any DAW. The company say that the collection celebrates imperfection, and spans genres such as rock, funk, jazz and electronic music.
As you might imagine, a wealth of elysia equipment has been used to process the sounds during both the tracking and mixing stages, with the resulting pack promising to deliver an interesting new sound that’s ideal for those wishing to set themselves apart from the crowd.

In addition to the above kits, some of the pack’s sounds were also captured using a selection of other materials including old springs, metal parts and pieces of wood.
The pack is currently available to download as a set of stereo audio files, and the company will be offering the multitrack files by request in the first quarter of 2024.
