Hit’n’Mix release AI-powered RipX DAW

Combines DeepRemix, DeepCreate and DeepAudio

Hit'n'Mix RipX DAW PRO AI music content creation stem separation software

Hit’n’Mix have announced the launch of RipX DAW and RipX DAW PRO, a pair of new DAW packages that the company say provide a truly holistic approach to cutting-edge AI music production processes. They combine the capabilities of Hit’n’Mix’s existing DeepRemix, DeepCreate and DeepAudio modules, providing an all-in-one solution that covers editing, mixing, stem separation and more.

Rip Audio

Both versions of the new DAW are centred around the company’s Rip Audio format, which means that there are no separate MIDI and audio tracks within the software. Files are converted to the format upon being imported into a project, and can each be edited and have processing applied using a single set of tools.

A note-based interface aims to provide an intuitive experience, offering a quick and simple way to apply transparent pitch- and time-based editing and effects whilst offering instant visual feedback. Colour-coded notes and layers are utilised throughout, with note and chord recognition helping musicians to learn parts to songs, and there are a range of one-click effects and sound replacement tools that make quick work of applying editing and processing techniques.

Stem Separation

There are built-in stem and instrument separation tools, allowing users to split mixed tracks into their component parts and offering individual editing and mixing controls over the resulting channels. RipX DAW PRO extends the functionality even further, making it possible to separate parts into fully editable notes, chords and unpitched sounds. The PRO version also introduces Audioshop Sound Manipulation Tools which, along with the software’s Harmonic Editor, Repair Panel and RipScript Python scripting facilities, are said to offer an unprecedented level of control over notes, harmonics, noise and unpitched sounds.

AI Generation

Although the DAW has been designed to suit every kind of music and audio user, the company say that a particular emphasis has been placed on the new generation of AI-inspired content creators. As such, both versions offer direct integration with an AI music generation service, and provide tools that make it possible to break down and customise the generated content. In RipX DAW PRO, that functionality is extended to include a more advanced set of clean-up tools.
