EastWest Spaces 2.5 update orchestral convolution reverb impulse response

EastWest’s Spaces convolution reverb plug-in comes packed with over 1000 reverbs that have been captured in a wide variety of different rooms and environments around the world, from churches and concert halls to warehouses and train stations.

Version 2 introduced a streamlined GUI and expanded the selection of presets — we put it to the test in SOS January 2019, you can check out our review here — and now, the company have announced the release of version 2.5, which extends the plug-in’s feature set and introduces VST3 and Apple Silicon support.

Along with the new plug-in format and M1/M2 support, Spaces has gained a number of new features. A Send Mono control has been introduced to allow mono signals to be sent to stereo impulse responses, and the plug-in’s Stereo and True Stereo presets are now equipped with a Stereo Width control which allows users to manipulate the perceived width of a signal’s stereo image.

The Filter page has been updated, and now includes a sonogram display that combines a signal’s equalisation and response feedback into a single visual readout. The Envelope page now offers a Simple Mode which features a single Decay control, as well as a Full Mode which provides users with more detailed parameters such as a multi-node envelope that provides control over the attack and decay stages of an impulse.

Compatibility

Spaces 2.5 is supported on PCs running Windows 10 and Macs running macOS 10.13 or later. VST2, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.
